When you sign up (email form):
- Your first name and email address
- This is stored securely by ConvertKit, our email service provider
When you use the app:
- Anonymous usage data: which features you use, device type (mobile/desktop), and how you found us (e.g. Instagram, direct link)
- Your learning progress (saved locally on your device only -- we never see it)
We do NOT collect:
- Your voice recordings (speech recognition runs entirely in your browser)
- Your payment information (the app is free)
- Your precise location
Analytics & Cookies
We use the following services to understand how people use the app:
- Vercel Web Analytics -- anonymous page views and performance data
- Meta Pixel (landing page only) -- helps us reach more people through Instagram. You can manage your Meta ad preferences here
- Custom analytics -- we track anonymous events (like "quiz completed") to improve the app. No personal information is included
How We Use Your Email
If you sign up, we'll send you:
- Access to the full Slang Mate app
- Occasional emails with Aussie English tips and course updates
Every email has an unsubscribe link. One click and you're out -- no hard feelings, mate.
Your Data, Your Choice
- Unsubscribe from emails anytime via the link in any email
- Delete your data by emailing us (see contact below)
- Clear app progress by clearing your browser's local storage
Data Security
The app is served over HTTPS. Email data is stored securely by ConvertKit. Analytics data does not contain personally identifiable information.
